To take out a consumer loan with Fidexico, you must: be at least 18 years old, reside in Portugal, have sufficient regular income to ensure repayment of the loan, and not be registered with the National Register of Household Credit Repayment Incidents (CRC) held by the Banco de Portugal. Each application is reviewed individually by our teams, who assess your repayment capacity on the basis of the information you provide and the mandatory regulatory checks.
The list of required documents varies according to the type of loan and your personal situation. As a general rule, you will need to provide: a valid identity document (national identity card or passport), proof of address less than 3 months old, your last 3 payslips or your latest tax notice, and a bank details statement (RIB) in the applicant's name. For earmarked loans (car, home improvement), a quote or invoice for the asset to be financed may also be requested. All documents can be submitted electronically when subscribing online.
As soon as your complete application is received, an in-principle response is provided within 24 to 48 hours. If accepted, you receive your loan contract offer electronically. You then benefit from a minimum reflection period of 14 calendar days (legal withdrawal period). If you choose to exercise your right of withdrawal, you may do so free of charge and without justification during this period. If you confirm your subscription, the funds are released into your bank account within 24 to 72 hours after the withdrawal period expires or after your express waiver of this period.
Yes, Fidexico reviews loan applications from all professional situations, including employees on a permanent contract trial period, on a fixed-term contract, self-employed workers, sole traders and liberal professions. The analysis of your application is individual and takes into account your entire financial situation (income, expenses, savings). Regular income that is sufficient in relation to the requested instalments is the main criterion. Specific supporting documents may be requested depending on your status (latest tax notices, accounting balance sheet for the self-employed).
If your loan application is refused, you are informed by email as soon as possible. In accordance with applicable Portuguese law, if the refusal is based on information contained in a file managed by the Banco de Portugal (CRC), we are required to inform you and to indicate the name of that file. You may then exercise your right of access and rectification with the Banco de Portugal. A refusal is not final: if your situation changes (increase in income, repayment of an existing loan), you may submit a new application later.
Yes, it is possible to take out a consumer loan as a co-borrower with your spouse, civil partner or any other individual, without a marital bond being necessary. Joint subscription can strengthen your application by increasing the income taken into account when calculating your repayment capacity. Each of the co-borrowers is jointly and severally liable for the full repayment of the loan. Supporting documents will be requested for both people.
To change your direct debit IBAN, log in to your client area and go to the "My personal data" section, then "Bank details". There you can enter your new bank details (RIB) and confirm the change. For security reasons, the new details take effect from the month following the validation of your request, in compliance with SEPA deadlines. You may also send a signed SEPA mandate together with your new bank details by post to our customer service.
Your amortisation schedule is available for download from your client area, in the "My documents" section. It details all the instalments of your loan (date, amount, capital portion, interest portion, outstanding capital). This document is also provided to you at the time of subscription, in accordance with the pre-contractual information obligations set out in applicable Portuguese law. If you cannot find this document, contact our customer service via our contact form.
The direct debit date of your instalments is set at the time of subscription. For any change request, contact our customer service via our contact form or via the secure messaging service in your client area. Depending on the terms of your contract, a date change may be granted subject to acceptance by our teams. This service is generally available once a year. Fees may apply depending on your contract, within the limits set by the fee schedule available on the Pricing page.
In accordance with articles L.312-34 et seq. of applicable Portuguese law, you may at any time make an early repayment, total or partial, of your consumer loan. To do so, send a written request to our customer service (via secure messaging or postal mail) specifying the amount you wish to repay and the desired date. We will send you an early repayment statement within 7 days. For partial early repayments, you can choose between reducing the loan term and reducing the amount of the instalments.
In accordance with applicable Portuguese law, early repayments of consumer loans may give rise to an early repayment indemnity (IRA) in certain cases. However, no indemnity may be claimed if the amount repaid early over a 12-month period is less than 10,000 euros. Above this threshold, the IRA is capped at 0.5% of the amount repaid if the repayment occurs more than one year before the end of the contract, and at 1% if the repayment occurs within the year preceding the end. The exact conditions applicable to your contract are specified in your particular conditions.
If you experience temporary difficulties in meeting your instalments, contact our customer service immediately via our contact form. The sooner you alert us, the more we will be able to offer you solutions suited to your situation: deferral of an instalment, adjustment of instalments, or setting up a repayment plan. In the event of serious financial difficulties, you can also approach a Banco de Portugal advisor to benefit from the over-indebtedness scheme provided for by law. Fidexico is committed to supporting you with care in these difficult situations, in accordance with its charter of responsibility towards customers in vulnerable situations.
